Design brief and overview:

The clients wanted to get away from their busy lives in Auckland and planned to move to this property permanently within 4 years.  Food production was vital as both clients were restaurant owners and passionate ‘foodies’ who enjoy cooking with fresh produce they grow themselves. Hosting weddings and events on their property was also part of their future plan. This has been a rewarding and ongoing project that has evolved as it has gone along.

Now that the landscape is established, our clients have given us free rein of their property and the orchard landscape has flourished beyond all of our expectations. What started out as a backyard with some totaras and a fence surrounding the entire living space place has transformed into a food and structural paradise with very low maintenance.
